Strategy Plan to Boost a Company’s Online Presence

To measure your performance, you can also use the following indicators:

2) Identify your Goals

The goals can either be short-term (from 0-6 months) or long-term (6 months and more). 

Take this as an example:

You opened your online grocery store 1 year ago. In the first month of operations, you had 30 sales and last month you had 40 sales. In total, you have reached 200 followers on Instagram.

Short-term goals:

  • Reach a minimum of 50 monthly sales within 3 months.
  • Reach at least 400 followers on Instagram in 5 months.

Long-term goals:

  • Within 8 months, I want to sell 100 orders per month.
  • Within 10 months, I want to reach 1000 followers on all social media platforms.
  • Within 11 months, I want to make enough profit to be able to hire 2 more employees

* Tip: try to formulate your goals in a SMART way (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely)

3) Your Unique Selling Position

If you want to stand out from your competitors, you need to sell something that they don’t in other words, you need to sell something unique. 

To do so, you can do the following:

Define your ideal customers: Your ideal customer is the one who has needs or wants that you can solve. To define your Target Audience, you need to ask yourself the following questions:

  • Who are your customers?
  • What is the size of your market?
  • Where do they spend time?
  • What do they consume?
  • Why do they buy?
  • Where and how do they buy?
  • What do they need to buy?

Explain the problem that you solve: As an online grocery shop, the problem that you solve is probably a lack of time or motivation to go to a real grocery store. You can help your customers get their groceries without leaving their houses. 

Mention what makes you unique: There are a lot of different online grocery shops on the internet, to make sure your store has the most customers you need to offer them something special, such as the following:

  • Sponsoring local events
  • Only selling local foods
  • Only selling organic foods at the best price
  • Selling a variety of goods from all over the world
  • A membership that gives them discounts on their orders
  • Branding on your grocery bags 

4) Research your competition

To be better than your competitors, you need to know what they are doing. You need to research if there are similar services in your area and what they sell. Then you check at what prices they sell, their reviews, their social media presence, and their followers.

You can find out how they do advertisements, how often they engage with their users, and what makes them different. Sometimes your research will also show you their weak points which you can use to your advantage.

5) Advertising

You may have heard about the quote: Content is King, invest in it. This phrase however hides a lot of truth. The best way to attract customers is by getting them to know your business, its products, and its service. 

Your target consumer uses online platforms to make their life easier, which means you can use online advertising methods. You can also advertise on local broadcasting stations to reach the people in your area.

  • Content marketing
  • SEO
  • PPC
  • Display advertising
  • Email
  • Online videos
  • TV commercials
  • Mobile ads
  • Channel Partnerships
  • Events
